Ian is the Co-Founder and CEO of Piedmont Fund Services. At Piedmont, Ian advises his clients from pre-launch to various stages of their business life cycle. He is also responsible for the strategic direction and management of the firm. Ian is a frequent speaker at alternative investment conferences and investor roundtables.
Prior to founding Piedmont, Ian was with the global asset management practice at Ernst & Young in New York where he oversaw the audits of hedge funds, private equity funds, fund of funds, broker-dealers, and mutual funds clients with AUM ranging from $100 million to over $200 billion. In addition, Ian had served on various consulting projects including internal control reviews, forensic accounting, and internal audit outsourcing.
A serial entrepreneur at heart, Ian started his first company while attending the University of California Santa Barbara, where he earned a B.A. in Business Economics with Accounting Emphasis. Ian serves on the executive committee/board of directors for a number of professional organizations, and is actively involved with various charitable organizations in the Washington D.C. Metro area.

Mina is the Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Piedmont Fund Services, where she oversees Fund Operations and Investor Relations. Prior to co-founding Piedmont, Mina was with Chilton Investment Company, a multi-billion dollar New York based hedge fund, overseeing the fund accounting processes for domestic and offshore funds.
Prior to joining Chilton Investment Company, Mina was a Senior Auditor with the Asset Management practice at Ernst & Young, where she focused on audits of hedge funds, venture capital, and private equity funds in the San Francisco Bay Area. Her areas of expertise include analysis of fund performance, investment partnership accounting, investor relationship management, and private placement accounting. Mina is a graduate of University of California Santa Barbara, where she earned a B.A. in Business Economics with Accounting Emphasis.

Michael is the Director of Client Relations at Piedmont Fund Services where he brings over 17 years of experience in financial services working closely with some of the most notable firms in the industry.
Prior to joining Piedmont, Michael was a Vice President of Alternative Investment Services at The Bank of New York Mellon, where he spent nearly 15 years serving the firm’s flagship clients in hedge funds, mutual funds, fund of funds, and private equity. Michael has worked closely managing accounting teams working with industry leaders such as Goldman Sachs, Franklin Templeton, Marathon Asset Management, and Oaktree Capital. Prior to The Bank of New York Mellon, Michael began his career at Charles Schwab & Co. and Edward Jones as a registered representative and financial advisor. Michael has experience in complex financial instruments such as structured fixed income securities, credit default swaps, equity swaps, interest rate swaps, futures contracts, mortgage backed securities, options and global securities. Michael is a graduate of the Florida State University School of Business and holds a B.S. in Finance.

Doug is the Director of Fund Accounting Production at Piedmont Fund Services, where he oversees the firm’s Fund Accounting team across different sectors. Doug is involved in various aspects of the fund accounting life cycle, including setting up new fund launch, reviewing and providing comments on draft offering documents, advising on fund launch implementation.
Prior to joining Piedmont in 2011, Doug clerked at Washington DC area law firms. Doug is a graduate of George Washington University with a dual degree in J.D. and M.B.A. in Finance. Doug also earned his B.A. in Psychology and Business Administration from Ripon College.
Vanessa is the Director of Product Development at Piedmont Fund Services. Vanessa leads the firm’s products innovation initiatives and works closely with the firm’s CEO and software development team on proprietary application development projects. Vanessa also is a member of the firm’s Client Relations team where she serve on various client engagements from hedge funds, private equity, and institutional asset managers.
Vanessa has been with Piedmont since 2011, after earning her Master’s of Accountancy degree from George Washington University. Vanessa also earned her Master’s in Organization Studies from the University of Warwick in the United Kingdom, and Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Nanjing University in China. Vanessa has passed all parts of the CPA examination and is fluent in Chinese (Mandarin).
Angela is the Vice President of Piedmont Fund Services and brings a wealth of experience in the asset management industry from a Big Four accounting firm to Piedmont Fund Services, where she oversees quality control reviews of the firm’s fund accounting operation processes.
Prior to joining Piedmont in 2008, Angela was a lead senior auditor at Ernst & Young in New York, serving the firm’s flagship clients in mutual funds and private equity arena. Angela has served as the lead auditor on key engagements such as Dreyfus Corporation, Warburg Pincus, AIG Highstar Capital LP, and JLL Partners Inc. Angela has dealt with complex financial instruments such as structured fixed income securities, credit default swaps, equity swaps, interest rate swaps, futures contracts, and asset backed securities. Angela is a graduate of the New York University Leonard N. Stern School of Business and holds a B.S. in Accounting and Finance
Zuraya is a Fund Accounting Manager in Piedmont’s Asia office, where she oversees the operational team in Kuala Lumpur. Zuraya brings over 10 years of leadership and institutional fund accounting experience to Piedmont’s Asia practice.
Prior to joining Piedmont, Zuraya was a team leader with Citigroup Transaction Services in Malaysia, where she led a team of nine fund accountants in processing daily NAV for a flagship client with over $40 billion in AUM. Prior to Citigroup, Zuraya was with HSBC Securities Services in Dublin, Ireland, where she handled daily NAV calculation, performance reporting, and management reporting for asset management clients. Zuraya earned her Bachelor’s Degree with Honors in Accounting and Finance from Dublin Business School in Ireland.
Choon is the Director for Piedmont’s Asia office and oversees growth strategies and operational activities for the firm’s Asia-Pacific initiatives. Prior to joining Piedmont, Choon worked at Ernst & Young’s financial modeling group in Singapore, where he assisted clients in the valuation of private placements and operating businesses. Prior to E&Y Singapore, Choon was a senior associate at Ernst & Young in New York, where he oversaw the audit engagements for alternative investments and registered investment company clients. Choon earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business from the University of Bristol in the United Kingdom, and his Master’s in Accounting from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
